Raleigh, Dec. 19. -- This evening at six o’clock there will be one of the sweetest home weddings of the season when Miss Lalla Rookh Ellington and Mr. Ellsworth Hanks will be united in marriage at the home of the brides’ mother, Mrs. J. C. Ellington, on New Bern Avenue.
The bride’s sister, Miss Placid Ellington, will be the maid of honor and the bride will be given away by her brother, Mr. Bayard Ellington, of Richmond. She will wear a lovely costume of Duchesse lace with pearl trimmings and carry a bouquet of bride’s roses.
The marriage ceremony will be performed by Rev. J. C. Massee, pastor of Tabernacle Baptist church, amid special decorations that heighten the usual beauty of the lovely home.
The bride is an especially talented and handsome young woman, daughter of the late J. C. Ellington, for many years State Librarian.
The groom came to Raleigh recently from Hamlet and is superintendent of the Seaboard Air Line shops here.
They will leave here on the evening train for a bridal trip, which will include Tampa, Fla., and Cuba.
Many numerous and handsome weddings presents have been received by the happy couple.
