NASHVILLE - Larry Richard Joyner, 71, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016. He was born February 20, 1945 in Nash County to the late Paul and Ruby Baker Joyner.

Larry's favorite thing other than his family was NASCAR. He retired from Hughes Supply after 34 years of service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Joyner.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving wife of 16 years, Ida Joyner; three sons, Dax (Erin)of Nashville, Archie Braswell (Tonia) of Clayton and Alan Braswell (Teresa) of Nashville; one daughter, Denise Joyner of Rocky Mount; three brothers, Billy Joyner (Patricia) of Sandy Cross, J.P. Joyner (Janet) of Siler City and Ronnie Joyner (Janice) of Sandy Cross; two sisters, Carol Taylor of Sandy Cross and Rachel Griffin (L.C.) of Rincon, Georgia; sister-in-law, Jean Joyner of Sandy Cross; special granddaughter, Katie Braswell, and four other grandchildren, Darcey Joyner, Justin, Brittany and Addison Braswell; three great-grandchildren, Paisley Braswell, Carter Eckenrode and Jeffrey Braswell.

Visitation will be Friday, May 27, 2016 from 12:00-1:00 PM at Sandy Cross United Methodist Church with a Memorial service following at 1:00 PM with Rev. Carol Dean officiating.

Live plants will be accepted or contributions may be made to Sandy Cross United Methodist Church Building Fund @ 3725 Sandy Cross Road, Nashville NC 27856.
