Mr. Stephen “Steve” Charles Andrews, age 64, of Barnesville Ga. passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at his residence. He was the son of the late Mr. Roland Charles Andrews and Mrs. Eleanor Claire Aderhold Andrews Selsor. Mr. Andrews was also preceded in death by his Maternal Grandparents, George Leon Aderhold and Gladys Moody Aderhold, his Paternal Grandparents, Hubert Terrell Andrews and Odette Poupon Andrews. Mr. Andrews served as a firefighter for 43 years, having served in DeKalb County, where he retired as a Battalion Chief, volunteering as the Loganville Fire Chief for 12 years, and moving back home where he became the Fire Chief for Lamar County and the City of Barnesville. Mr. Andrews was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon, a Sunday school teacher, a youth Pastor, and the song leader. He also was in charge of the van ministry through which he touched the lives of many young people. Mr. Andrews was a great Husband, Father, Grandfather, Provider, and Teacher. His Grandsons were his world and he loved his Rainbow Ranch.
Survivors include his wife of 28 ½ years – Hope Andrews ; Son – Luke T. Andrews (& Allie); Grandsons – Wyatt Terrell Andrews and Waylon James Andrews; Mother – Eleanor Andrews Selsor; Brothers – Dan Andrews (&Jan), and George Andrews; Sisters – Kay Lively (& David), and Judy Langley (& Don); Nieces and Nephews – Amber Andrews, Adam Andrews (& Ashleighanne), Sirena Garcia (& Jose), Charles Andrews, Katie Jo Yancey (& Tyler), Kellie Mercer (& Andrew), Kevin Lively, Kristopher Lively (& Amber) Michael Langley, Alicia McElhannon (& Faron), Sarah Langley, and Hannah Langley; Numerous Great Nieces and Great Nephews, and Cousins.
Funeral Services for Mr. Stephen “Steve” Charles Andrews will be conducted at the Lamar County Fine Arts Center on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 10 O’clock with Rev. Garth Forster, Rev. Ryan Christopher, Johnny Nieman, Rev. Allen Newman, & Rev. Mickey Oliver officiating. Interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Calvary Baptist Church on Thursday, June 9, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm and again from 6 – 8 pm.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church for The Awana Kids Club or The American Cancer Society.
