Minnie Smith Edwards, 90, of Smithville, OK passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2016 in Mena, AR.
Minnie was born on July 12, 1925 in McCurtain County to late the Nicholas Jefferson and Rosanna Jones. She spent her days sewing, listening to the radio and going to church. She loved children and loved being around them.
Minnie was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Edwards; three brothers, Lee Jefferson, David Jefferson and Raphal Jefferson; and two brothers-in-law, Mark Lewis and Hershal Sullivan.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her sisters, Rhoda Sullivan of Smithville, OK and Minnie Faye Barnes of Missouri; Nephews, Travis Sullivan and wife, Vickie of Smithville, OK, and Charles Lewis of Shawnee, OK; Nieces, Julia Watson of Watson, OK, Martha Watson and husband, Nathan of Watson, OK, Dora Barrett and husband, Floylay of Amity, AR, LaDonna Johnson of Smithville, OK, Shirley Cogburn and husband, Howard of Joplin, MO, and Tom Hawkins of Joplin, MO; as well a whole community of friends.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Bunch-Singleton Funeral Home from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
A celebration of life will be held at Nanih-Chito Presbyterian Church in Smithville, OK on Friday, June 10, 2016 at 2:00 PM with Brother Keith Hamrick officiating.
Burial will follow at Nanih-Chito Cemetery.
