Bernice B. Hutchins, 95, passed away January 31, 2016 at Hospice Kavanagh House.
Bernice was born April 12, 1920 in Dixon County, Nebraska, the daughter of Harve and Florence (McCoy) Mitchell. She grew up in rural Nebraska and met Lee Hutchins in Sioux City, Iowa. They were married in July 1939 and celebrated 54 years of marriage before Lee passed away in 1993. She was a homemaker and dedicated mother and worked for the West Des Moines Public School System.
Bernice is survived by sons, Terry Hutchins of West Des Moines, David (Carmelito DeChavez) Hutchins of Sacramento, CA and Tom (Ann) Hutchins of Des Moines; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lee and a son, Clark Wayne Hutchins.
