Robert E. Groff, 81, formerly of Robesonia, passed away Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Lebanon VA Hospital. He was the husband of the late Pauline S. (Lash) Groff who died April 5, 2010.
Born in Rehrersburg, he was a son of the late Albert and Esther (Heck) Groff.
Bob served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Army and retired from Aluminum Alloys, Sinking Spring.
He was a member of First Reformed UCC, Wernersville, and was a member of the Fire Police with Wernersville and Robesonia Fire Companies, having served with them for over 50 years.
An avid Phillies Fan, Bob also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing bingo, and making puzzles.
He is survived by four daughters, Theresa L. wife of Larry Schermick, Wernersville, Tina M. wife of Bruce Miller, Newmanstown, Tonya K. Ferro, Wernersville, and Tiffany A. wife of Grant Sholly, Wernersville; two brothers, Albert Groff, Robesonia, and Melvin Groff, Bernville; and four grandsons, Casey Schermick, Ian Jones, Tyler Schermick, and Zander Sholly.
Services will be held at 10:00AM, Saturday, June 11, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville, with the Rev. William H. Weiser officiating. Visitation with the family will be from 9-10:00AM, Saturday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
