Elizabeth Mae, was called home to her Heavenly Father Jan. 8, 2006. She was born Sept. 15, 1913 in Wichita Falls, TX to Joseph Gordon and Edith Nellie (Lucas) Stearns. Elizabeth helped with the family grocery business, Nix Red and White Foods, for many years. She also was a successful sales lady at Clarks and Anthonys Dept. Stores. Elizabeth was a faithful, active member of Wilmont Place Baptist Church from 1943 until she became a resident of the nursing home. She continued to attend services there at Baptist Village Nursing Center. Elizabeth's love of life and unselfish service to others inspired family and friends to greater commitment and dedication to the Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John A. Nix; daughter, Betty Jones; son-in-law, Dean Jones; and grandson, Gary D. Jones. She is survived by her son, Bobby Joe Nix and wife Bonnie; daughter, Linda Meason and husband Darryl; grandchildren, Larry Jones and wife Glennell, Terry Jones and wife Dana, Kerry Jones and wife Deanna, Scott Nix, John Meason, Rebecca Pruitt and husband Kevin, and Matthew Meason; 8 great grandchildren; 9 great great grandchildren. Services to celebrate her life will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Wilmont Place Baptist Church
