Obituary of Gary Eberle


Gary R. Eberle passed away with his family and friends at his side on May 31, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 71.

Born in Somerville, he lived in Piscataway for many years before moving to Holland Twp. 24 years ago.

Gary was a member of the Piscataway Township Police Department for 16 years, and then worked in Corporate Security for Telcordia Technologies in Piscataway for 22 years before retiring in 2008.

He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother who had an infectious laugh, a great sense of humor, and a treasured hug.

He is predeceased by his parents Harry W. Eberle Jr. and Gladys Morris Eberle.

He is survived by his wife Kathleen Lynch Eberle, one son Gary R. Eberle, Jr. of Somerset, two daughters Rebecca Cutler of Bound Brook and Jennifer Rodriguez (Cesar) of Hillsborough, three brothers Harry W. III of Califon, Ronald S. of Warren and James C. of Atlanta. He is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Christian and Monica Rodriguez, and 17 nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Bailey Funeral Home, 8 Hilltop Rd., Mendham on Monday June 13 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday June 14th at 12noon at The Madison Hotel followed by a repast luncheon until 4pm. www.baileyfuneral.com.
