Mr. Roberts was a member of the Brownstown Christian Church. He served in the United States Army and was a member of the VFW and Eagles.
Born on January 26, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana, he was the son of Marlow R. and Mabel Christie Roberts, both of whom preceded him in death. On November 6, 1953, in Seymour, Indiana, he married Kathleen Mae Edwards, who preceded him in death on May 3, 2013.
Survivors include two sons, Donald M. (Cathy) Roberts of Brownstown and Jeffery T. Roberts of Mississippi; seven grandchildren, Jessica Crum, Alicia (Kyle) McCrary, Amanda (Jaret) Terrell, Julia (Bobby) Bright, Kara Roberts, Kyle (Julie) Warren and Hope Sitterding; and 13 great grandchildren.
In addition to both parents and his wife, he was also preceded in death by six sisters and three brothers.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at Spurgeon Funeral Home, Inc., Brownstown, with Brian Richards officiating.
Interment will be at White River Valley Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the VFW in Salem, Indiana.
