Obituary.....
Mary Helen Goodwin Jaynes passed away peacefully June 3, 2016 at NHC with her daughter, sister and friends by her side.
She was born in August of 1941 in Hart County Georgia to the late Sadie Fowler Goodwin and William Hayne Goodwin.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Janice Jaynes Pridmore, a sister, Doris Goodwin-Karcher, Bob Karcher and a dear friend, Gary Lafollette. Mary is also survived by very special family members that include Sherry and Gary Sikes, Sandra and Terry Burton, their children and grandchildren.
Mary and Doris and her late siblings, Jack and Sara Jean grew up on cotton farms in Hart County. Mary then married and moved to Anderson where she worked in Spring Mill and Santens Industries until her retirement.
Mary worked very hard most of her life, but in her later years she was privileged to make and enjoy a lot of friends. She especially enjoyed an exercise class, Stretching for a Purpose, at Concord Baptist Church and found comfort and friendship in attending North Anderson Presbyterian Church.
When Mary was no longer able to live alone, she was well cared for by the staff in Station 2 of National Health Care. And later by the CARIS hospice team. During her 5 years at NHC, Mary attended Sunday school conducted by David and Peggy Black of Homeland Park Church of God. May God richly bless all of you for the jobs and/or ministries you have chosen.
The Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of The McDougald Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Couch officiating.
The family will be at the home of her daughter, Janice Pridmore, 113 Olivarri Drive, Anderson, SC 29621 and will receive friends on Monday, prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until 1:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Anderson County P.A.W.S., 1320 US 29 South, Anderson, SC 29626.
