David Morris Hunt, passed away after a long life, well lived. He was the first of the two sons born to Harmon and Frances (née Jones) Hunt. Dave entered the service as an Officer in the U.S. Army Air Forces in 1942, and went on to become a flight instructor and flew B-17 heavy bombers during World War II. He retired after 30 years of service as a Command pilot, at the rank of Lieutenant Colonel, in the U.S. Air Force. He married the war widow and single mother, F. Maxine "Micky" Kaiser (née Phelps) on February 11, 1944, in Piggott, Clay County, Arkansas, and together they had four children. They remained married for 55 years, until her death in 1999. Dave worked in the energy field and retired after 20 years with Harry Cooper Supply in 1988. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason for 50 plus years. There was a graveside service with full military honors in the Springfield National Cemetery. (Bio by: Jay Lance)

He was survived by his four children; Sharon Cates (Francis), Carol Loving (Gene), David R. Hunt, and Melissa Allee (Michael); seven grandchildren, Geri Milsaps, Brian Cates (Sarah), Alison Rosebrough (Dan), Kim McGlohan (Dave), Andrea Gaba (Victor), Julie Daugherty, Jessica Hunt; and 17 great grandchildren.
