Charlotte Evelyn Wear Hatfield, age 88, of Greenback, passed away Saturday, January 12, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital. She was a member of Greenback Memorial Baptist Church, and devoted her life to her church and Gods work and to her family and friends. She was a retired school teacher for many schools through Kentucky and Tennessee. She was a graduate of Greenback High School, earned her bachelors degree from the University of Tennessee, and earned her masters degree from the University of Kentucky. Her final statement to her family was “When my time comes to leave this world, I want you to know, I’m a saved person, going to heaven to se my Jesus and be happy there. For all my family, I will be watching and waiting for you to join me. What a happy time we will have.” and this is truly the way she lived her life. Preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Paul Hatfield, who pastored several Southern Baptist Churches in Kentucky and Tennessee and was employed by the Home Mission Board; parents, Joe and Grace Peterson Wear; special aunts, Maude Peterson and Kit Peterson; and great grandchild, John Hansel Sullivan. She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister to her son and daughter in law, Jim and Faye Hatfield of Panama City, Florida; daughter and son in law, Doris and Wayne Sullivan of Warsaw, Kentucky; sister and brother in law, Betty and Red Johnson of Greenback; grandchildren, Angie Nemecek and husband, Michael, Jimmy Hatfield, Lisa Wyant and husband, Jon, Donnie Sullivan and wife, Missy, Danny Sullivan and wife, Loramae, Paul Sullivan, and Sherri Sullivan; great grandchildren, Michael and Dylan Nemecek, Preston and Andrew Wyant, Brandt and Blaire Sullivan, Mollie and Madi Pelfrey, and Daniel Sullivan, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday 11:00 a.m. at Miller Funeral Home Cedar Chapel, Rev. Kenneth Holder officiating. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park in Knoxville.
