Milton Bennett died at his home four miles northeast of this city on Wednesday afternoon at 1 o’clock after a lingering illness of consumption, aged about fifty years. Mr. Bennett was one of the most influential farmers of Needham township and his death will be much regretted by a host of friends all over the county.

OBITUARY.
Wm. M. Bennett was born Nov. 14th, 1837. He died at his home west of Urmeyville, Aug. 27, 1890, at half past one o’clock in the afternoon. He became a member of the Hurricane Baptist Church, Feb. 16, 1863. On April 25, 1867, he was married to Miss Maggie Owens, who with five children survive him.
Mr. Bennett had been sick for a long time with typhoid fever. Weeks before his death it was thought he could live but a few days, but at the time of his death he was seemingly growing better, when the end of his life suddenly came. The immediate cause of his death was probably heart trouble apart from the fever.
Milton Bennett, by which name he was best known, was a quiet Christian and a good citizen and was both respected and loved by his neighbors. In these days which turn so many toward selfishness to the extent of injuring others, there is both a beauty and a use in the ‘simple, guileless, child-like’ life, which ‘seeketh not its own,’ much less injures its neighbors. Mr. Bennett both attended and gave his best aid to the church where he was a member and has left to his family the comfort of a good life and a Christian hope.
He was buried near Hurricane church on August 29th, the funeral services being conducted by Rev. P. O. Duncan. A large company of neighbors were present to give their witness that a good Christian man had died, and to show their sympathy to his family.
