He was born December 16, 1952, in McKeesport, a son of James A. Patterson and Vivian Sawders Patterson.
Mr. Patterson graduated from McKeesport High School.
He was a Vietnam-era veteran of the U.S. Army.
Mr. Patterson was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175, Washington.
Surviving are his wife, Paula Jane Ralston Patterson; two brothers, Jim Patterson Jr. and Sean Patterson; and a sister, Terrie Kohl.
Deceased is a brother, Dean Patterson.
Friends will be received from 1 to 4 p.m., the time of service, Thursday, September 3, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Pastor Donald Amos officiating.
