Samuel Hughes was born in the old community of Brownsville, York County (Vaughan) in 1838. His parents were George Hamilton Hughes (1812-1898) and Aramunta Hawke (1813-1892).
1851 census of Wellesley Twp; 14 years old.
Later in life he became a medical physician.
On June 27th, 1867, Samuel married Caroline Catharine Ahrens in the village of Berlin, Waterloo County. He was 29 years old. marriage Microfilm #1030067.
They had one child named, Elizabeth Alena Hughes (Waelchli) 1868-1931.
Samel died at the young age of 32 years, 3 months and 3 days. His cause of death was Consumption (Tuberculosis) Death Register #020318.
