She was a graduate of Western Kentucky University with a bachelors degree in science. She was a retired teacher with the Hart County School System and a member of Munfordville Baptist Church.
Survivors:
One son: John Bowles (Diane); one daughter: Nancy Withers (Barney); three grandchildren: Sarah Dickson (Bradley), Matthew Withers (Jessica) and Kacie Sharpe (Will); seven great grandchildren: Charlie, Chad & Chase Dickson, Jake, Jackson, Wyatt & Finn Withers; and a host of extended family and friends.

Her parents; her husband; one grandson: John David Bowles and five brother & sisters.
