Brian Keith Blankenship, 42, of Prosperity, passed away June 2, 2016. Brian enjoyed NASCAR and attended Freedom Ministries. He worked for SGS Minerals as a field services manager, and had been with the company for seventeen years.
He was born on June 15, 1973 in Welch, WV to the late James Dee Blankenship (1940-2012) and Marie Lafferty-Blankenship (1946-1993). In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by infant sister, Becky Sue Blankenship (1962-1964); paternal grandparents, John H. Blankenship (1885-1971) & Inez Elswick-Blankenship (1917-1982), and maternal grandparents, Jesse Lee Lafferty (1905-1965) & Margaret A. Belcher-Lafferty (1909-1970).
Those left to cherish his memory include wife, Karen Dillon-Blankenship of Prosperity; stepdaughters, Jennifer Dillon & husband Jeremy Dillon of Beaver and Renee Dodson & husband Robert Dodson of Prosperity; brother, Michael Blankenship of Oak Hill; sister, Joyce “Judy” Ann Blankenship-Merriman (1964-2020) of VA; step-grandchildren, Matthew Dillon, Carleigh Dodson, and River Dodson; special nephew, Tyler Blankenship; great nephew, Brodee Adams; special niece, Amee Merriman-Murdock; special great-niece, Nadilee Murdock and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
