Gale T. Hall, 79, of Becker Lane, Marietta, passed away at his home at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday (Oct. 17, 2006).

He was born in Washington County on Sept. 2, 1927, a son of Charles and Mildred Hutchinson Hall. Gale had been employed at Curtis Tire Shop for 35 years and later at Richardson Printing Company until he retired. He was a member of Souls Harbor Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Drome during World War II.

He was married for 59 years to Carol Worstell, who survives with two sons and one daughter, Larry (Nancy) Hall, Charles (Cindy) Hall and Linda (Joe) Thomas, all of Marietta; and grandchildren, Cathy (Thomas) Menarchek, Bret (Katie) Thomas, Christopher (Stacey) Hall, Adam (Rebecca) Hall, Charla Hall, Kala Hall, Justin Hall, and Aaron Tornes. Also surviving are great-grandchildren, Hannah and Peter Thomas, Ben, Nic, and Anna Menarchek, Emma Stubbe and Webb Hall, and Cameron Brindo. His brother, James (Ida) Hall, sister, Mary (Robert) Patterson, and brother-in-law, John Grayson, are also surviving.

Gale was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Irene Grayson; and one brother, George Hall.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Souls Harbor Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Hughes officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Park with full military rites. Friends may call from noon today at McClure-Schafer-Lankford Funeral Home and for one hour before the service at the church. Family will be present at the funeral home from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today.
