Carole Louise Campbell
1931 ~ 2016
Carole Louise Larsen Campbell, 85, of Meridian, died Saturday morning, June 4, 2016 at Spring Creek Assisted Living Facility following a long battle with breast cancer and a traumatic fall at home. Carole was born April 21, 1931 in Rupert, Minnidoka, Idaho to Elton P. and Minnie LaVera Borup Larsen. In her infancy, her family moved to Boise where she attended Whitney School, Boise Jr. High and Boise High School. During the 1947 school year, she began dating Bruce Campbell and they became high school sweethearts. Bruce and Carole married on July 7, 1951 and from that marriage eight children were born, seven boys and one girl. They were going to celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary this year.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents and one son, David. She is survived by her loving husband; her children: Steven (Margaret), Timothy (Heidi), Linda (Don), Richard (Jill), Daniel (Ann), David's widow Rebecca, Joel (Jennifer), and Eric (Victoria); 28 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren with two more to be born soon; two brothers and one sister: David Larson, Chris Larsen and Kenna Worthington.
She loved music and played the piano and organ since her teenage years and was church organist off and on from the beginning. She was an active Boy Scout volunteer while raising all those boys… all whom attained their Eagle Scout Rank. She drove school bus for the Meridian School Dist. For 25 years to help support her sons as they served LDS Missions.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, June 10 at the Meridian Fifth Ward LDS Chapel, 2555 S. Stoddard Road, Meridian with a viewing from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the services.
