Hyrum Joseph Blosch, 79, passed away July 5, 1991, at his home from causes incident to age.
Born September 9, 1911, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Leo and Maria Lehmitz Blosch. Married Thelma Ellen Meads, February 13, 1941 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple and had 48 wonderful years together prior to her death in 1989. An active member of the LDS Church; served in the Swiss German Mission from 1932-34; was a High Priest and served in the Bishopric of the 15th Ward. Served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He owned and operated Blosch Sales Co. since 1946.
He touched the lives of many with his unselfishness and generosity and will be deeply missed. He loved life and always saw the best in people, especially in God's creations. His hobby was his business and he had an uncanny ability to find the best bargain and turn it into profit. He was a very hard worker.
Survivors include four children, Barye (Maureen), Charlene (Daniel) McGrew, and Ellen, all of Salt Lake City; and Jeff (Eva) of Alameda, California; eight grandchildren, Nancy, Laura, Tom, Jason, Patrick, Jane, Nick and Anna; one great-granddaughter, Aja; and three brothers, Rulon, Albert and Alma. Preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two brothers, Nephi ''Lee'' and Raymond; and three sisters, Mary Benedict, Ruth Reese and Lucille Peay.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, July 10th, 12 Noon, at the Crosspointe Ward, 1325 West 5550 South, in Bennion. Friends and family may call Tuesday evening, from 6-8 pm at the Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, and at the Ward on Wednesday, one hour prior to the services. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
