She was born June 6, 1946, in Bristol, Va., a daughter of the late Cecil Kelly Simcox and Edna Montgomery Simcox. She lived her entire life in the Bristol and Washington County area and was a homemaker. She was a member of Valley View Missionary Baptist Church. She was an avid basketball fan and coached boys and girls teams at Wallace Elementary School.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by one sister, Norma Darlene Simcox Brown.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Roger M. White of Abingdon; one son, Lee White and wife Lisa of Abingdon; one granddaughter, Akeyla Danielle White of Hiltons, Va.; four grandsons, Nathanael Robinson, Zachary Robinson, Micah Robinson, and Samuel Robinson; one great-granddaughter, Annabel Robinson; one sister, Beverly Davis and husband Albert of Bluff City, Tenn.; one brother, Daryll Kelly Simcox and wife Tammy of Bristol, Va.; one aunt, Margaret Carrier; special friends, Steve and Sheila Booher, Carolyn Cornett, Sally Duty, Caprice Fleenor, Nanabee Andis, and Dulcie Mumpower; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2016, at 8 p.m. at the Frost Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jerry A. Eggers and Rev. Kenneth Widner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 p.m. until time of the funeral service. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Forest Hills Memory Gardens. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers and honorary pallbearers. Those attending the graveside service are asked to assemble at the cemetery by 1:50 p.m.
The family would like to extend special thanks to the nurses and staff of Select Specialty Hospital at Bristol Regional Medical Center, especially Fausto, Dr. Pickstock, and Genera.
The family suggests that memorials be in the form of contributions to Cancer Outreach Foundation, P. O. Box 1263, Abingdon, Va., 24212.
