Frances Gwaltney was the daughter of James Solomon Gwaltney and Julia Gray. Originally from Tennessee their family moved to Prairie View Arkansas in the late 1860s, they traveled by ferry. In 1870 Frances married another Tennessean who migrated to Prarie View, Adrian Taylor Baker. He was the son of James Baker and Louisa Bayless of Mcminn, Tn. Taylor and Frannie's had 11 children in 23 years. She was preceded in death by her husband Taylor in 1902. She died 10 years later in July 1912. They are interred together in the Prairie View Cemetery in Prairie View, Arkansas.
