Renee Williams Eyre

Minersville, Utah

Renee Williams Eyre passed away June 1, 2016 at the age of 90 in Delta, Utah surrounded by her family.

Renee was born February 20, 1926 in Minersville, Utah.

She was the eighth child of Franklin D. Williams and Leah Hannah Marshall.

When Renee was nine months old, Leah passed away with pneumonia and Renee stayed with Aunt Albie Gillins until her father married another special lady Lucy Pocock whom she loved dearly as a mother.

Renee grew up in Minersville, Utah, the town she loved most.

She attended Minersville Elementary and Minersville High School where she participated in the band and played the clarinet.

On June 25, 1942 Renee married James Alma Eyre in Minersville, Utah.

Their marriage was later solemnized in the St. George temple on March 28, 1964.

From this union brought six children.

She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many callings.

She was a member of the literary club and loved to read.

She and James enjoyed square dancing and singing together.

She was an expert at bottling fruits and vegetables and making homemade candy, but her greatest pleasure was taking care and serving her children and grandchildren.

Renee was very talented and could do anything.

She was a waitress at the Hong Kong Café in Milford, Utah for many years.

She also worked at the Beaver Sewing Factory.

Before retiring she and James managed the Beaver Travelodge Motel for 15 years.

Renee is survived by her children Jeanne Edwards (Jim) of Delta, Utah;

Joan Myers (Mitch) of Delta, Utah;

Darla Callister (Russell) of Delta, Utah;

Janet Oakden (Richard) of Beaver, Utah;

Spence Eyre (Linda) of Minersville, Utah;

Jody Robinson (Mike) of Vernal, Utah;

her brother David Williams (Janet) of Moreland, ID;

sister-in-law Reva Williams of Beaver, Utah;

29 grandchildren,

94 great grandchildren

and 31 great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband James;

her parents;

her sisters:

Viola,

Margaret,

Naomi,

Anna Rae,

Charlene;

brothers:


Spence,

Max,

John,

Dee,

Russell,

Deloss;

and her great grandsons Zach and Jaxon Eyre.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 9, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Minersville Stake Center (130 W Main St, Minersville, Utah).

Viewing will be held from 9-10:30 am at the Stake Center prior to the funeral.

Interment will be in the Minersville Cemetery under the direction of Southern Utah Mortuary.
