Bobbie Powell, age 85 of Purcell, passed away Friday June 3, 2016, at the Purcell Municipal Hospital. Bobbie Sue Ward was born April 21, 1931 in Mission, TX, 1 of 4 children born to Gaylord Stanley Ward and Gladys (Harper) Ward. She was raised in Purcell and attended Purcell Schools, graduating in 1949. Bobbie married her best friend the love of her life, Bobby Lee Powell, and together they raised 3 children, daughter, Jennifer and sons, Phillip and James. Bobbie worked at Kennedy Drug for time and also as a telephone operator. She dabbled some as a florist and worked as a bank teller for several banks in the Prague area as well as McClain County Bank in Purcell. Her greatest joy however was her family, and she cherished being a mother and grandmother. Bobbie enjoyed crocheting and was a gifted quilter, making numerous quilts for her family and friends. Most of all, she loved working in her yard and tending to her garden. Bobbie loved the Lord and was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church in Purcell. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Gaylord and Gladys Ward and Two brother-in-laws, Ed Cavnar and Lonnie Kennedy.

Bobbie leaves behind: Her husband, Bobby Powell of the home; Daughter, Jennifer Leonard and husband Tommy of Wynnewood; Sons, Phillip Powell and wife Tina of Eufaula, OK and Stanley Powell and wife Sheila of Prague, OK; Brother, W.R. “Sonny” Ward and wife Carolyn of Purcell; 2 sisters, Betty Cavnar of Ardmore and Sallie Kennedy of Norman; 8 grandchildren, Jami Leonard Rozzell, Brandi Leonard Rozzell, Neisha Leonard Wright, Megan Powell Taylor, Ashley Powell Young, Mandy Powell, Cord Powell and Gage Powell 8 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at the First Baptist Church in Purcell. Burial will follow at the Hillside Cemetery under the direction of the Wilson-Little Funeral Home. Send online condolences at wilsonlittle.com.
