Sharon Kay (Haynes) Snyder, 69 of Kirksville, Missouri passed away peacefully at home Thursday, June 2, 2016, under Hospice care with her family, sister-in-law Phyllis Turner and lifetime friend Judi Snyder by her side.
Born December 1, 1946, in Unionville, Missouri, she was the daughter of Opel and Reva Viola (Medlin) Haynes. On December 27, 1963, near Green Castle, Missouri, Sharon was united in marriage to Ronald D. Snyder.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Ron of fifty-two years; one son Rodney Snyder (Dayna) of Kirksville, MO; one sister Donna Faye Haynes of Fort Smith, AR, and five grandchildren, Tyler and Tanner Miller of Kirksville, MO, and Sydney, Jack and Sam Snyder all of Kirksville, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Melissa K. Miller and one brother, Glen R. Haynes.
Sharon attended school in Putnam County and later at Kirksville High School. She was employed at Florsheim Shoe Factory, McGraw Edison, Burroughs, Ortech, and was a longtime beautician, but her main profession was babysitting. She enjoyed gardening, attending her grandchildren's ball games and events. Sharon was a great noodle maker and loved traveling and eating at different restaurants. Sharon was a member of Women of the Moose Lodge and of Hamilton Street Baptist Church in Kirksville.
