Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 14th at the First Baptist Church, Madison with Pastor Keith Bundy officiating. Burial will be in the Prospect Cemetery, rural Chester. Memorials may be directed to Prospect Cemetery, c/o Barb Wheeler, 23849 464th Ave., Chester, SD 57016. Visitation will begin 10 AM on Friday with family present from 5-7 PM at Ellsworth Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 PM. Visitation will continue on Saturday from 10-11 AM at the church.
Mae Della Genevieve Dilly was born July 16, 1925, on a farm south of Madison, to Charles and Della (Randall) Dilly. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1943 and earned her Bachelor of Science degree from General Beadle College in Madison. She received her Master of Arts degree from Augustana College. Mae Della taught school 43 years with the last 31 years at Hayward Elementary School in Sioux Falls. She retired in 1991.
Mae Della was a member of First Baptist Church and Retired Teachers Assn. She enjoyed yard work at home and at church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 5 brothers, William, Charles, Virgil, Wayne & Forrest; four sisters, infant Lucille, Velma Hackett, Gretchen Andersen and Marguerite Feldmann.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, several nieces & nephews.
