Elizabeth Baldwin Obituary
Elizabeth "Betty" Nicely Baldwin, 93, of Ligonier, passed away Saturday, June 4, 2016, in the Bethlen Home. She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in Ligonier, a daughter of the late C. Ross and Janet (Eby) Nicely. She attended Waterford United Methodist Church, and was a Gold Star member of the Eastern Star, Fort Ligonier Chapter 349. Betty was an accomplished seamstress and crafter. Prior to retirement, Betty was employed with Volkswagen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Merle E. Baldwin; and five brothers, Merle, Robert, Donald, Fred and Gerald Nicely. She is survived by her three children, Janet Lockhart, of Louisiana, Chari Poteet, of Arizona, and Pete (Carla) Baldwin, of Ligonier; five grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; a brother, Richard (Janice) Nicely, of Stahlstown; and a sister, Georgianna Overly, of Ohio.
Family and friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday in the SNYDER FUNERAL HOME INC., 402 E. Church St., Ligonier. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. George Umphlett Jr. officiating. Private interment will follow in Snowball Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Betty's name may be made to Ligonier Valley Ambulance, 508 N. Market St., Ligonier, PA 15658.
