Don was born February 1, 1933, in the Town of Mishicot, son of the late Harold and Evelyn (Petri) Eis. Mr. Eis owned and operated the family farm in the Town of Mishicot his entire life. He was a graduate of the Mishicot High School, Class of 1950, and the University of Wisconsin Madison where he took an agricultural short course. He married the former Patricia Finnel May 3, 1958, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot. He was avid skier, and Packer fan, and was a Packer ticket holder since 1962. He loved being in the outdoors.
Survivors include his loving wife, Patricia; four daughters and three sons-in-law, Jackie and Chuck Umhoefer, Middleton, Wis., Amy Jo and Brad Sibley, Milwaukee, Mary and Bob Kloczynski, Mishicot, and Jill Eis, Madison and her fiancé Chris Lindwall; one son, Greg Eis and his special friend, Mora Elenbaas, both of Austin, Texas; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Jean Eis, Mishicot, Richard and Barbara Eis, Kaukauna; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Marilyn and Gilbert Zahorik, Menash, Elaine and Carl Hallada, San Antonio, Texas, Judy and Greg Radenmacher, Rochester, Minn., Geraldine and John Heran, rural Whitelaw; ten grandchildren, Charlie, Joe, Julia, and Michael Umhoefer, Nathan Kuhl, Zach, Jonah, and Brenna Sibley, Marissa and Rachel Moczynski; his mother-in-law, Florence Finnel, Two Rivers; a sister-in-law, Mary and Ken Puta, Green Bay; a brother-in-law, Jack and Ann Finnel, Baltimore, Md.; nieces, nephews and many special friends. He was also preceded in death by one special daughter, Terri on April 13, 1982; and one special niece, Sara Eis; and his father-in-law, Leonard Finnel.
Friends may call after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, until the funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. There will be no Thursday evening visitation.
A Memorial Fund has been established in his name.
The Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, is assisting the family with arrangements.
Don was a very special kind and loving husband, father, and grandfather, and will be sadly missed by his family, many special friends, and all who knew him.
