Jeffrey Alan Douglas 59 of Mantua passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 surrounded by family. Jeff was born on May 23, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio to George Edward and Marie Yvonne (Rivett) Douglas. Survivors include his father George (Kim Urban), brothers Bob (Dawn) Douglas, Brian (Maria) Douglas, sister Kim (fianc' Brian Rooth) Long, nephews Michael (Robin) MacDowell, Dakota Long, Brandon Douglas, Luke Leister and Jacob Leister, nieces Ashley Douglas, Brittany Douglas, great nephew Carson MacDowell, his unbelievable companion Sue Budner who brought so much to his life and his special "Buddy" as they called each other Kathleen Block. He was preceded in death by his mother in May of 1986. Jeff was raised in Aurora and moved to Mantua in 1986. He was known for his excellent interior painting skills and being trustworthy and dependable. Jeff started his own successful business and for the most part, accomplished the jobs on his own. He led a simple life, taking pride in keeping up his home and vehicles. He enjoyed fishing, watching the Cleveland Indians and listening to music especially Joe Walsh. Jeff always loved pulling off something funny and had a creative mind to get someone good. Calling hours will be from 2 - 4 PM Sunday, June 5, 2016 at Shorts Spicer Crislip Funeral Home Streetsboro Chapel. Funeral services will be at 10 AM Monday, June 6, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend William Snyder officiating. Burial will follow in Westlawn Cemetery in Mantua.
