Kenneth Ronald Snow, 65 of River Ridge, Pipestem, WV died early Sunday morning, August 18, 2013 at Princeton Community Hospital after a lengthy illness. He was born June 22, 1948 in Matoaka, WV to the late Tyler and Ethel Johnson Snow. Kenneth was a graduate of Matoaka High School and worked 10 years as an underground electrician with Consolidated Coal Company and Slab Fork Coal Company. He then obtained a degree in education from Bluefield State College and retired from the Mercer County Board of Education after teaching Special Education for 22 years. He was a member of the West Virginia National Guard and the Rocky Mount Community Church at Pipestem. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Danny Snow. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife Janet Blankenship Snow. Three children, Amy Poe and husband Jim of Carolina Beach, NC, Megan Snow of Pipestem and Jared Snow and wife Candi of Columbus, OH. Two grandsons, Beckett and Elijah Poe. One brother, Scott Snow of Virginia Beach, VA. Two sisters, Anita Bowling and husband Gene of Princeton, and Barbara Shrewsbury and husband Danny The family has honored Kenneth’s request that his body be cremated. His cremains will be interred in the Thompson Family cemetery at Pipestem. (It is my understanding that this cemetery may also be called Quinn Cemetery)
