~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Grandma Wood was born as "Gladys Vera Hendricks" to her birth parents. When she was only a few weeks old, her biological mother passed and she was taken in by her maternal uncle and his wife, Charles and Nona (Wood) Hicks. She was then renamed Anna Marie Hicks. Charles and Nona loved my great grandmother very much and raised her as a daughter.
