Eddie was born in Montezuma to the late Jesse E. Dixon, II, and Eula Grace Phelps Dixon. He lived in Perry all of his life. The owner of Dixon Builders for many, many years, he was a contractor building beautiful custom homes in and around Middle Georgia. He was truly a hard worker who took pride in his endeavors. Eddie loved to go fishing and spent many, many hours with his close fishing buddies at his local "honey hole", "Barney Smith's" pond, and several favorite lucky spots in Florida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always put everyone first before himself.
Left to cherish the memories of Eddie are his loving wife of 20 years, Eva George Dixon of Perry; his children, Phil Dixon and Shawn Dixon (Elizabeth), both of Perry, Lee Anne Beard (Ronnie) of Cochran, Christy Herndon (Boyce) of Macon, and Robby Cummings of Dallas, TX; his grandchildren who lovingly referred to him as "Pop", Rylee and Jessie Dixon, Luke Beard (Sara), Jake Beard (Katie), Emily Herndon, and Camellia Herndon; his sister, Amelia D. Jackson of Monroe County; his niece, Robin Oppenheim; his nephew, Earl Jackson; and 4 great-nieces.
Watson-Hunt Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
