Kathie Jones, 66, of Coloma, died at 6:40 am March 19th in her residence. She was born May 12th, 1948 in Philadelphia, PA. to Leonard Morrell and Ellen Smith Morrell.
She married Charles Jones January 9th, 1977. She owned and operated Kathie’s Alterations where she was a seamstress. She was also co-owner of First Security Insurance. She was a member of the Coloma Friends Church. She was a past Queen of the Nile Badoura Temple #23 and also First Lady of the Shrine in 2006 and 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, and an infant son, Jeremy.
Surviving are her husband, Charles of Coloma, two sons, S. Sgt. Matthew and Miriam Jones of Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC. And Jacob and Sarah Jones of Rosedale, two step-sons, Mark and Kelli Jones of Franklin, IN. and Brad and Missy Jones of Franklin, IN, five sisters, her twin Fay and Harold Osborne of Fredericksburg, VA., Ellen Davis of Westchester, PA., Debbie and Paco Coyne of Virginia Beach, VA., Gladys Morrell of Virginia Beach, and Karen Morrell of Virginia Beach, and one brother, George and Bonnie Morrell of Richmond, VA. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Liam Jones, Melia Jones, Finnegan Jones, and Molly Jones, five step-grandchildren, Devin and Courtney Jones, Brice Jones, Logan Jones, Trey Jones, and Tyler Jones, and one step-great-grandchild, Landon Jones.
Visitation will be 2-4 on Saturday March 21st at Brown-Mack Funeral Home. The Nile Memorial Service will begin at 4 pm with memorial services to follow with Reverend Bill Flanigan officiating. Cremation was chosen. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Coloma Friends Church or Shriners Hospital for Children.
