WALTER CRETTON
Funeral services for Walter Cretton, 63, of Mishicot, a long-time
specialist in steel fabrication at Invincible Metal Furniture Co.,
Manitowoc, and a member of an early Mishicot family, who died shortly
before noon Friday at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital, will be at 10 a.m.
Monday at Klein & Stangel, Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, and at 10:30
a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Mishicot, the Rev. Anthony Betley
officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mishicot.
Walter Cretton was born Sept. 27, 1901, at Mishicot, a son of the late
Fabian and Mary Brouchoud Cretton, for many years operators of the
former Badger Hotel at Mishicot. He was graduated from Mishicot High
School and for many years before his employment at Invincible, he worked
at the Hamilton Mfg. Co., Two Rivers.
Active in bowling circles at Mishicot for years he was a member of the
Men’s Bowling League. He was also a member of the Mishicot Sportsman’s
Club, the Manitowoc County Trailer Club, Manitowoc County Fish & Game
Protective Assn., and Holy Cross Holy Name Society.
Surviving are his wife, the former Viola Fermanich of New London, a
former Mishicot High School teacher whom he married in June of 1926;
a daughter (private); a son, (private); a sister, Mrs. Harvey Klabunde
of Two Rivers, and two grandchildren, (private).
Friends may call the funeral home after 2 p.m. Sunday where the Rosary
for the Holy Name Society will be recited at 7:30 p.m. and for the
parish at 8 p.m.
