Melvin M. Campbell, 87, of West Jordan, UT, passed away peacefully in his home on May 12, 2016. Mel was born on November 6, 1928 in Coshocton, OH to James D. and Viola M. Wright Campbell.
Mel served in the US Navy at the end of WWII, settled in Utah, and worked 30+ years for Eimco Corporation and later for Hercules, Inc.Mel loved feeding and watching birds, gardening, tinkering in his shop, and visiting with friends and neighbors at his home in West Jordan. He was an active member of Canyon Lodge # 13, Free and Accepted Masons, Midvale, UT for over 30 years.
Mel is survived by his wife Faye Watson Campbell of West Jordan, his son Alan W. Campbell of Brigham City, his daughter Melodie S. Campbell of Seattle, his daughter Vi Thomson of West Jordan, his grandson LTJG James Scott Campbell (Meleigha) stationed in San Diego, his grandson Gary Alan Campbell of West Jordan, his sister Esthergrace Parry of Seattle, and nieces and nephews across the US.
In accordance with Mel's wishes, there will be no funeral or viewing. A plaque in Mel's honor will be placed at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park in Draper, UT. Donations may be made in Mel's honor to Shriners Hospital for Children .
