Donald J. Cretton, age 59, of 223 Elm St., Denmark, died Sunday morning, September 4, 1994, at home following a brief illness with cancer.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 1994, at All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark. Msgr. Robert F. Gulig will officiate with burial to follow in Holy Cross Church Cemetery, Mishicot.
He was born July 12, 1935, in Two Rivers, son of Rose (Antonie) Cretton and the late Earl Cretton. He is probably best remembered as a science teacher at Casco High School, Washington Jr. High School, Green Bay and East High School, Green Bay. At the time of his death, he was self-employed as the owner of Dansek Hus Bed and Breakfast and Furniture Restoration in Denmark. Donald was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the United States Navy. In April of 1991, Mr. Cretton and the former Carolee Sawasky were married in Green Bay. He was a member of All Saints Catholic Church, Denmark.
Survivors inlcude his wife, Carolee Cretton; his mother, Rose Cretton, Two Rivers; his children, Patricia and James Goodrich, San Antonio, Texas, James and Karen Cretton, DePere, Jean and Rod DeBauche, Green Bay, Susan and Steve Molik, Green Bay, Thomas and Anke Cretton, Flieden, Germany, Anthony Cretton, Madison, Michael Cretton, Green Bay; six grandchildren, Zachary, Johanna, Carly, Lillian, Quinn and Tasha; six step-children, Carrie, Ron Mountain, Mich., Kathryn, Paul, Anne, Gina and James all of Norway, Mich.; three step-grandchildren, Amanda, Marcus and Jessica; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Earl in 1958.
Friends may call at the Knutson-Cotter Funeral Home, 536 Cty. Hwy. R. Denmark, from 5-9 p.m. on Tuesday (TODAY) and after 1 p.m. on Wednesday until the cortege leaves for church. A parish prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday evening.
In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
