Leila was born at Valders August 22, 1933, daughter of the late Tedvald and Alice Sorenson Skattebo. She graduated from Valders High and Manitowoc County Teachers College, teaching one year before getting married. She married Donald Craney on September 18, 1954, at Valders West Lutheran Church. The couple moved to Mishicot in 1965.
Survivors include her husband, Donald; two daughters and a son-in-law, Pamela and Kevin Dimmick, Manitowoc, Peggy, Mishicot; five sons, Paul Craney, Manitowoc, Patrick (Dottie) Craney, Almond, Wis., Peter (Annette), Neenah, Perry, Mishicot, Phillip and his fiancee, Jody, Kewaunee; two brothers, Oley (Louise) Skattebo, Milwaukee, Earl (Doris) Skattebo, Manitowoc; two sisters, Mrs. James (May) Mahlock, Milwaukee, Mrs. Allen (Thelma) Cayemberg, Manitowoc; seven grandchildren, Lauren and Meghan Dimmick, Jessica, Alexander, Andrew, Kimberly and Anthony Craney.
Friends may call at the Lambert Funeral Home, Mishicot, from 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday until the time of service.
Good bye my sweet wife. Each day will bring us closer to the time we'll be together again. Until then, in loving memory, I shall hold you in my heart.
