Kristi passed away last night after a massive heart attack. She was such a wonderful lady who lived her Lord and her family. She was active in her church and was always helping others. She will be missed by so many.

Kristi Karen Smith was born February 15, 1961 in Shreveport, Louisiana to Jacqueline and Charles Smith. She was called home to be with her Lord and Savior June 2, 2016.

Kristi had many passions and talents in life. Her grandchildren MacKenzie, Grace, Sydney, Ella, and Sawyer, were the light of her life. She spent much of her time with them and talking about them to her hosts of friends. And Kristi loved her church. Church at Red River was her home. She served generously and tirelessly, always being the first to show up and the last to leave. She was a talented cook and baker, cheerfully feeding anyone who ventured into her home.

Most importantly, Kristi was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by Doug Smith, her loving husband of 35 years; their two children who made her so very proud, Lindsay King and husband Christopher of Ocala, Florida; Stephen Smith and wife Jenni of Blanchard; In- laws, Jay and Marietta Smith of Shreveport; five grandchildren, Mackenzie, Grace, Sydney, Ella, and Sawyer; sister, Lisa Gorman and husband Melvin of Benton; brother-in-law Derek Smith and wife Marcella of Sherman, TX; nephew Josh Gorman and wife Alicia of Benton; nephew Justin Gorman and wife Holly of Shreveport; nephew Jeremy Gorman and wife Leann of Bossier; uncle Claude Ray Adams, Jr. of Shreveport; as well as a host of cousins and other friends and family members.

Visitation will be held at Rose Neath South in Shreveport on Monday, June 6th from 5:30pm-7:30pm. The service celebrating Kristi’s life will be Tuesday, June 7th at 10 am at Church at Red River on Flournoy Lucas Road in Shreveport, officiated by Pastor Troy Parker. Burial will be at Springville Cemetery in Coushatta, LA following the service. There will be a meal for family and friends at Church at Red River following the burial.
