Lois E. Barber, 90, of Masonic Village passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2016. Born in Reading, PA she was the daughter of the late John J. and Viola (Kachel) Hine. She was the wife of the late Raymond W. Barber, Jr. who passed away last July.

She received her Bachelor's degree in Education from Kutztown University and was a career school teacher in the Shoreham Wading River School District in Long Island, NY.

Lois was a longtime advocate for women's rights and civil rights in the 1960's and was a longtime member of the teachers union. She enjoyed playing golf, summers in Canada at the cottage, and enjoyed arts and crafts.

She is survived by her two sons, Raymond John Barber husband of Deborah and grandson Christopher Raymond Barber, Jonathan Thorpe Barber husband of Maria and grandson Jonathan Jay Barber. Also surviving is a brother, John T Hine husband of Dorothy and host of loving nieces and nephews.
