He was married to Mary Johnson who died from tuberculosis at Aarons Run in Montgomery County on 6 May 1922. She was a daughter of A. J. Johnson and Rebecca Turner. Keller was later married to Dora Leona "Ona" Kissick who was born about 1902 in Fleming Co., Kentucky, daughter of George Washington Kissick and Margaret May Hamm.
By Mary, Keller was the father of Elwood Bryant, James W. Bryant, and Carrol D. Bryant; by Ona, he was the father of Keller Johnson Bryant II, Paul Kane Bryant, and three infants stillborn.
Keller died from a coronary occlusion on 5 June 1954 in rural Montgomery County and was buried in North Middletown Cemetery in Bourbon County. Ona died on 4 December 1966 in Montgomery County.
