Spencer was a son of George T. and Mary Jones Fritz. He was a farmer on 'Fritz Hill' in the Town of Wheeler. Spencer married Katherine Aulls. Spencer held a patent for a potato digger. He and Katherine had two children, Dorothy and Harold. He died of the flu. His brother, Carl had been killed in France,during WWI, six weeks before Spencer died. He was not aware that his brother had been killed.
