HUBBARD - Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Kelley-Robb Funeral Home for Benjamin F. Townsend, 86, of 105 W. Liberty St., who died Monday morning at home after a long illness.

Mr. Townsend was born Nov. 19, 1910, in Youngstown, a son of Charles W. and Florence Mae Wetzel Townsend, and was a lifelong area resident. He was a painter for General Fireproffing Co. for 30 years before retiring in 1969.

He worked for Hubbard Township from 1969 to 1972 and was a member of Free Gospel Church in Youngstown.

He leaves his wife, the former Jeannette Rose Chittle, whom he married June 12, 1937; two sons, James of Townville, Pa., and Robert of Youngstown; a daughter, Mrs. Benita Streb of Hubbard; three brothers, George of Youngstown, Robert of Arizona and Ray of Philadelphia; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Shetrom of Howland; seven grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

A daughter, Mrs. Norma Gongaware; four brothers, Earl, Charles, John and Norman; and two grandchildren are deceased.

Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
