WOODVILLE - Edwin Love Holt, 58, died Sunday at his residence.

Mr. Holt was owner of Ace Hardware and a former employee of IBM in Memphis, Tenn. He was founder of Field Day at Wilkinson County Christian Academy where he was honored as Patron of the Year.

Mr. Holt received his bachelor's and master's degree from the University of Mississippi where he served as president of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity.

The funeral was Tuesday at Woodville Baptist Church. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.

Mr. Holt was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Maynard Holt and Jane Love Holt Wynne.

He is survived by his former wife, Janet Treppendahl Holt of Jackson; a son, Dr. Edwin Love Holt Jr. of Woodville; two daughters, Lisa Cantrell Holt of Woodville and Ginger Holt Gober of Grenada; a brother, Robert Maynard Holt of Nashville, Tenn.; and three grandchildren, Ruthie Love Holt, Grace Ayres Gober and Coleman Lee Holt.
