Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Bobby Broyles officiating. Burial was in Earth Memorial Cemetery by Parsons-Ellis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Shirey was a lifelong resident of Earth. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Earth, where she was a choir leader.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy; two sons, Tyson Lee Shirey and James Eugene Shirey, both of Lubbock; a daughter, Angie Kay Shirey of Amarillo; her mother, Dorthaphine Brownd of Earth; and a brother, Dickie Brownd of Earth.
The family suggests memorials be to American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd St., Lubbock, TX 79423.
