Served in the 7th West Virginia Cavalry during the Civil War.∼Was the son of Coleman Edward Barber and Anna (Eades/Edds) Barber. Martin's first wife was Elizabeth Ann Jones born about 1820 Mason County Virginia (now West Virginia). She died 28 December 1864 at Little Buffalo,Putnam County, West Virginia. Martin was in the Civil War. He enlisted at Buffalo,West Virginia in the 8th Infantry (later changed to the 7th West Virginia Calvary).
