Claud Ivan Nichols, , went to his heavenly home on Oct. 25, 2006. Claud was born on Sept. 29, 1912 to John Ivan and Lestie Ann Nichols in Spivey, KS. He served 25 years on the Wichita Police Dept., having founded its forensics lab, and retired as Lt. Col. with the Department. He served 5 years during WWII under Eisenhower with the Big Red One, and an additional 25 years in the Army Reserves, retiring with the rank of Major. Preceded in death by parents, brother Carl and granddaughter Lestie (Cook) Brewer. Of all the major accomplishments and contributions in his life, the most important things to this humble man were his God, his family, and his country. Claud is survived by his adoring wife of 61 years, Janine; sister Wanda Norman (Vince); 4 daughters Carol Cook (Gene), Linda Stribling (Dick), Christie Nelson (Roger), Geraldine Tennell; grandchildren Cale Nelson (Renee), Megan Royer (David), Felicia Nelson, Briana Nelson, Gail Geldien (Josh), Owen Stribling; great-grandchildren Layla Royer and Jordan P. Brewer. Memorial with the charities of the First United Methodist Church. Services 2:00pm, Sat, Oct 28,
