Denver Willis Bonner, age 78 years, a resident of Rt 1, Elkins, passed away Tuesday evening, January 10, 2006 in Rocky Mount, North Carolina.

He was born August 17, 1927 in Elkins a son of the late Earle Dennis and Mary Jane Carr Bonner.

On August 12, 1950, he was married to Donna Carol Wingfield Bonner who survives near Elkins.

A daughter, Karen Dianne Jenkins of Wilson, NC. one sister, Margie James of Elkins, three grandsons, Tim, Chris and Jeff Jenkins and four great-grandchildren also survive.

Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Lorenzo, Harold and Ray Bonner and a sister, Chloe Howell.

Mr. Bonner was employed as a Proof Reader and Linotype Operator for the United States Government Printing Office.

He was a Veteran of the United States Army serving during the Korean Conflict.

Mr. Bonner was a member of the CTU Union and attended the New Life Fellowship Church at Glenmore.

Friends may call from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Friday, January 13, 2006 at the New Life Fellowship Church at Glenmore.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 14th from the church with Rev. Wesley Russ and Rev. Gloria Roy officiating.

Interment will follow in the Elkins Memorial Gardens.
