Connie Garcia of Lubbock passed away on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the age of 82. She was born April 16, 1934 in Seguin, Texas to Francisco and Maria (Herrera) Zamarripa. She was married to Luis Garcia for 50 years, they were married until his death. Connie worked for 20 years at Texas Tech University, she worked in the custodial service until she retired. She was a member at St. Joseph Catholic Church and a Crusillista.
Those left to cherish her memory are her seven daughters and husbands, Elida Vasquez (Carlos), Adela Garcia, Eva Lopez (Mario) of El Paso, Mary Lou Lopez (Tony), Mary Rivera (David), Susie Hinojosa (Eddie) and Lucy Garcia; two sons, Johnny Garcia and Adam Garcia and wife, Eva; one sister, Gloria Macias; 30 grandchildren; 74 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Connie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Luis; son, Raul Garcia; grandsons, Angelo Martinez and David "Tilo" Rivera; and a granddaughter, Jaylin Herrera.
Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, 2016 with rosary to begin at 6:00 p.m. at the Venue on Broadway, 2202 Broadway. Services will be 10:00 a. m. Friday, June 3, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with interment to follow in Peaceful Gardens Memorial Park.
