Eddie James Brooks passed away May 27, 2016 in Midwest City at the age of 67. He was born April 28, 1949 in Montgomery, AL to Alberta and Willie Lee Brooks, Sr. Eddie joined the USAF in 1967 at the age of 18 and he served his country for 23 years including time during the Viet Nam War and retired in 1989 with a rank of MSgt. Eddie and Kathy Brooks were happily married for 31 years. The have 2 children, Brandon Doolittle-Brooks and Duane Brooks. Later they adopted their nieces and nephews, Keithann, Dondrea and Darton as well as Rosa. They dedicated their lives to giving to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, William and Willie, Jr., niece Rhonda Lowe and his grandparents. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Kathy, sons, Brandon and Duane, all his adopted children, brother, Otis Brooks, brother/friend, Mark Steen, sisters –in-law, Vickie and Shelwyn Doolittle, and Lillie Brooks, brothers-in-law, Michael Carrethers, Keith and Bryant Florie, 5 grandchildren, Efrain, Jasmine, KaMari, Kamerun and Darton, Jr. as well as a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. His quick wit and unconditional love will be dearly missed. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on June 4, 2016 at the Advantage South Chapel with burial at the Buckner (Buchner) Cemetery in Holdenville, OK at 3:00 P. M.
