Jack Hans Hansen of Boise, Idaho passed away May 30, 2016 of natural causes.

A private inurnment will be held at Dry Creek Cemetery.

A memorial service will be held at Wright Community Congregational Church, 4821 W. Franklin Rd., Boise, on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at 10:30 a.m.

Jack Hans Hansen was born on August 27, 1931 in Boise, Idaho to Harry Harper Hansen and Emma Mae Smith. Jack married Carol Ann Stauth on July 18, 1954. They remained married for 59 years, until Carol's passing.

He graduated from Boise High School in 1950. He obtained an Associate Degree from Boise Junior College in 1955. Once Boise State became a 4 year college, he attended night school while working and raising a family and received a B.A. in Business in 1972.

Jack enlisted in the Idaho Air National Guard on January 5, 1951 and served for 12 years. He was called to active duty during the Korean Conflict. He was discharged from the Idaho Air National in January, 1963.

Jack started working with the Bureau of Reclamation, the Central Snake Projects Office in 1955. He remained with the Bureau for approximately 38 years and retired as the Chief, Water Operations Division in 1992.

Jack is survived by his children, Chris (Karen) Hansen; Shawna (Sam) Maggard; his brother, Gary Hansen; three grandchildren, Adam and Ryan Hansen and Shyla (Tim) Larson; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.

Jack enjoyed traveling with Carol, hunting, fishing, and wood carving. He also enjoyed socializing with their many friends and participating in local square dancing clubs.
